Hethro  Water-Dispersible Granules

*Pesticide Properties :

Hethro is a selective systemic herbicide for maize, effective against a wide range of weeds. It contains two active ingredients from different chemical groups:

Nicosulfuron: A herbicide specifically for maize and forage maize, targeting and controlling around 27 types of annual grasses and broadleaf perennial weeds, such as barnyard grass.

Diflufenican: A pre- and post-emergence herbicide for field crops and maize. It controls broadleaf weeds and is a selective contact herbicide.

*Composition and Active Ingredient Ratio:

Nicosulfuron: 60 g/L  , Diflufenican: 100 g/L

*Phytotoxicity:

The herbicide is non-phytotoxic and is tolerated by all crops mentioned in this label when used under the recommended conditions and dosages.

* Toxicity Classification (WHO Standards):

Class III (Slightly hazardous).

* In Case of Poisoning:

Contact the nearest national poison information center in your area.

* Mode of Action:

Nicosulfuron: A systemic herbicide absorbed by stems, leaves, and roots. Symptoms include yellowing of leaves from the top downward. Weed damage is visible 3–4 days after application. Broadleaf perennial weeds with fewer than six leaves stop growing, losing their ability to compete with maize. High doses can also kill perennial weeds.

 Diflufenican: Works by inhibiting carotenoid synthesis, which blocks photosynthesis, ultimately leading to plant death.

* Application Rates:

Hethro controls the following weeds at a rate of 1 kg per hectare with a spray solution not exceeding 400 liters of water:

Red dead-nettle, field yellow chamomile, field camomile, cat's ear, shepherd's purse, white goosefoot, field thistle, groundsel, cleavers, nettle, chamomile, clover, mouse-ear chickweed, anemone, wild mustard, chickweed, lamb's quarters, cockspur grass, wild pea, basil, wild oat, couch grass, purple nutsedge.

* Compatibility:

Hethro  should not be mixed with certain herbicides unless tested on a small scale beforehand.

* Uses and Recommendations:

Hethro is used in maize fields at a rate of 1 kg per hectare to control weeds. Apply during the 3-5 leaf stage of maize and the 2-4 leaf stage of annual weeds, and before the 6-leaf stage of perennial grasses. Most weeds should be treated simultaneously. It is recommended to mix the herbicide with an adhesive spreader for better results.
